Find X: How I Plan to Save for Our Trip to Brazil (Part 4)
My previous post about our 27-week journey to save for airfare to Brazil ended with a problem: Miggy's monthly amortization + X = 25,000. Find X.
First thing that came to my mind is to eat home-cooked meals. Better if cooked at my parents home, since I won't have to spend for the ingredients and use only energy when eating, since Nanay will cook it. But that's only possible every 2 weeks when Nanay lends me her house helper and that's also when she can send food for us. Also on occasions when we visit my parents at least during their birthdays and anniversary, my brother's birthday, and my birthday. And oh, for the record, we have not yet spent our anniversary with them because we got married on Christian New Year (Nisan 1, 5771) and it falls on a different date in the Gregorian calendar each year. They're not yet members in our Church so I can't make them fully understand that we don't celebrate it on the same day every year in their calendar.
Anyway, the whole point of this paragraph (in case you want to know) is to minimize if not totally prevent eating out when I'm too lazy to cook, which by the way is 99.99% of the time, just like a germ killer.
Next, I'm cutting off a portion of the husbands allowance. Guys, don't be too quick to judge! I thought of this because I plan to make lunch for him to bring to his office so we can save his lunch money. I also plan to stay in a place with no parking fee at least 2 days a week while hes in the office so we can also save on parking fees.
These are some of the things in our budget where we can save on. They don't complete yet our solution to get X. I'll complete the solution in my next post.
