Singapore 2009
Ok, it's my second day here. I arrived last night and went out with bro. jay for dinner. He's supposed to go out with me with bro. william (i still haven't met him though) but he backed out when he found out they'll be meeting with a sis hehehe.
It was raining when I got here. I did not take a cab (laki ng natipid ng company sa kin noh, bait ko!). I just took the MRT from the airport going to Tanah Merah (which I though was just a station away from the airport). So thinking that I was lost when a different station name was mentioned, I got off to the station after Changi airport. I looked at the MRT map and there I saw that I Tanah Merah is the next station. I waited for a couple of minutes before the next train arrived. It was almost 7pm and yet the sun is still up (well, that's how it is in the equator hehehe). I got to Tanjong Pagar station at around 7:30pm. It was raining so I took out my umbrella (it was the first time I used it) then I walked a couple of blocks to get to the hotel. I think I looked stupid pulling my luggage and crossing the streets with an open umbrella. What in the world got into my mind that I decided to take the MRT instead of a cab? Well, maybe I am just doing my part to help in the cost-cutting scheme of our company hehehe. I'm a tourist here, I am entitled to look stupid sometimes!
We ate dinner in a food court in City Hall. I learned a lot from bro jay. I am happy to hear that the locale here has transferred to a new and bigger place. Also, I am thankful that he is happily married and that bro. eli was the one who permitted them to get married! It's very sure that their marriage has HIS blessings.
I planned to work out at fitness first in the morning but I still don't have the address of the nearest club. I did not have the time to check it out before I left manila and the 3G card was just given to me this morning when I reported for work. The work is pretty much easy today but I expect to start tomorrow as I just got from the client the loooooooong list of pending issues.
I went out of the office before 7pm and got back to the hotel to unload my big bag.
Days before I left for singapore, I saw an old picture:
I remember this taken in a studio somewhere in cubao. I was in college back then. I think before I turned 18. I went all the way from UP Diliman to Cubao just to have this picture taken, hahaha!
I went shopping in Suntec where I was supposed to buy a compass, at least 2 pairs of shoes, and a cellphone. I ended up buying none of the above. Instead, I have bought the following:
kikay bag (the size is just enough to contain my (bulky) wallet, cellphone/s, and cam). This is love at first sight. Too bad, the tindera was not there but I chanced upon her on my way back to the MRT station. I thought it was priced 30.90 (it's a bit pricey for me but I really want it) so I gave her 50 but she gave me a change more than 20 so I clarified with her the price. She keyed in her calculator 139 (that's 13.90 though). Not bad, considering that I expected it to be almost triple the price. I'm sure nanay will also want one for her hehehe.
dress with belt (bought separately but from the same store). I love the belt so I bought another one with a different color.
short (party) dress (intended to be worn with slacks)
long printed skirt (from the same store where I bought the dress). The belt is the same style as that for the dress. I can wear it also for a short dress I already have.
I went my way to the MRT station. I was thinking twice whether I should take dinner or not. To cut the story short, I went to McDo near the hotel. I ordered the chicken burger meal with fries and hot choco. I am thankful that just before I was about to open the burger, I remembered the chicken here in sg is halal so I immediately removed it from the tray and ate the fries instead. I really felt good about it, knowing that there is still something with me that reminds me of things like this :-D
I went home and here I am typing this blog entry after taking pictures of the items I bought and ironing some clothes. I don't like my smell 'cause I still haven't taken my night shower. I should do that now hehehe :-D
